As the Director of Facilities Services at MGT, Nerissa Sparks is a seasoned facilities management professional dedicated to ensuring K-12 environments are safe, efficient, and high-performing.
With more than nine years of experience in public education, including serving as Director of Maintenance for Duval County Public Schools, she specializes in the strategic oversight of maintenance operations, safety management, and capital project execution.
Her approach is highly analytical and rooted in practical, logical problem-solving. Nerissa is a lead in Facility Master Planning and Maintenance and Operations support projects, helping district leaders translate complex infrastructure data into clear, actionable, long-term strategies.
Whether she is addressing complex maintenance and operations challenges or guiding facility planning initiatives, her goal is to help school districts strengthen operational stability so they can remain focused on what matters most: student success.
Nerissa is an APPA Certified Educational Facilities Professional, CEFP, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Florida and a Facilities Management Certificate from UC San Diego Extension.
She is also an active contributor to California’s Coalition for Adequate School Housing, CASH, Conference, where she has served as a featured speaker for three consecutive years on maintenance management, facilities operations, and long-range planning topics that support more effective stewardship of school facilities.
She remains committed to leading meaningful social impact by improving the built environments where students learn and grow.
