Facilites

Lance Richards, Ed.D. serves as a key strategic advisor at MGT, where he leverages his background in educational leadership and technical analysis to solve complex facilities and enrollment challenges. With an Ed.D. in educational administration, Lance brings a unique “practitioner’s perspective” to the MGT team, focusing on how data-driven planning directly impacts student success and institutional health.

Currently, Lance specializes in enrollment forecasting and school boundary analysis, helping K-12 districts navigate the “enrollment cliff” and shifting residential development patterns. His methodology prioritizes the “human element” of planning, ensuring that technical rigor is paired with effective community engagement strategies. Lance is recognized for his ability to facilitate attendance boundary committees and present data-backed proposals that survive intense public and board scrutiny.

A veteran speaker at industry events, Lance returns to the SPC26 School Planning Conference to lead sessions on defensible boundary planning and community-ready analyses. His sessions are designed to help district personnel move beyond static spreadsheets and into true GIS-enabled environments, providing the clarity and confidence needed to guide their communities through periods of significant change.
