MGT Appoints Ibrahim “Ibo” Otun as Chief Information & AI Officer to Accelerate Technology, Data, and AI Strategy

TAMPA, FL, May 14, 2026 — MGT, a national technology and advisory solutions firm serving state, local and education government agencies (SLED), today announced that Ibrahim “Ibo” Otun has joined the firm as Chief AI & Information Officer (CAIO/CIO). In this role, Otun will lead MGT’s AI factory, and enterprise technology and data platforms, strengthening the firm’s ability to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions for public sector clients.

Otun’s appointment comes as MGT continues to expand its agentic AI capabilities across both internal operations and client-facing solutions. As public sector organizations navigate rising expectations, resource constraints, and increasingly complex service delivery needs, MGT’s AI solutions are expanding to deliver operational performance excellence while decreasing client operating costs.

Otun brings more than two decades of experience leading AI-enabled modernization, large-scale technology operations, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and data infrastructure resilience across complex global environments. He joins MGT after a 22-year career at McKinsey & Company, where he served as Global Director of Technology Operations and Digital Experience, supporting tens of thousands of users across more than 160 locations worldwide.

“Ibo is the right leader for a critical moment in MGT’s evolution,” said Trey Traviesa, CEO of MGT. “AI is rapidly becoming integral to how public agencies operate and deliver services. For MGT, the opportunity is to further embed AI into everything we do as we continuously evolve the value we create for our clients. Ibo has done this in a highly demanding client-focused environment, and he brings the discipline, clarity, and skill MGT needs to achieve our ambition to be the impact and performance leader in our industry.”

At MGT, Otun will oversee the integration and advancement of the firm’s technology infrastructure, data platforms, cybersecurity posture, and AI capabilities under a unified OneMGT strategy. His work will focus on strengthening the systems, governance and, operating practices that allow AI to be deployed responsibly and effective across the enterprise. His appointment reflects MGT’s continued investment in a scalable foundation to its growth, transformation and M&A integration.

“MGT has spent fifty years earning its place as a trusted partner to SLED leaders — and the next chapter will be defined by firms like MGT,” said Otun. “I’m joining to build the data and platform layer that turns MGT into an AI-first operating model from the inside out — a single, governed foundation where every employee, every engagement, and every acquisition plugs in. That’s how a mission-driven firm at MGT’s scale delivers consistent, trusted outcomes for the SLED agencies and the communities they serve.”
