Ms. Kattrina Schmitzer joined MGT in 2021 and brings 20 years of experience in business process improvement, regulatory compliance, federal and financial reporting, and system implementations. She is a trusted advisor to educational agencies, state and local governments, and nonprofits on various topics and is known for her leadership, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and operational expertise.
Ms. Schmitzer started her career in higher education, focused on academic technology. While at the University of Maryland School of Law, a Juvenile Justice clinic sparked her passion and commitment to social impact in the public sector. Ms. Schmitzer’s government sector experience was at Washington D.C.’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education, serving as the Special Education Data Project Director. There, she implemented a special education data management system and led the resolution of two Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) findings of noncompliance. Before joining MGT, Ms. Schmitzer worked for a public sector consulting firm where she demonstrated strategic leadership by facilitating the execution of roadmap items aligned to departmental goals, supported the implementation of an organization-wide national business line, assisted state agencies and school district administrators with state and federal audits, and managed state-level projects for school-based Medicaid reimbursement programs.
