The University of British Columbia engaged MGT to conduct a space planning study for University Health Sciences programs. The purposes of this project were to develop space planning criteria, determine the space needs of health science programs, identify the university health science space on campus and at six teaching hospitals in the greater Vancouver British Columbia area, and develop a long-range facility plan for the University’s health science programs. In addition to the examination of existing space, the project encompassed an examination of infrastructure and the identification of space needs for all of the programs and outlined alternatives to meet those needs. In this effort, the study utilized a proprietary Space Planning Model to identify the ranges of space appropriate to support the functions of the departments encompassed by the project.
