Connecting to the Classroom® is a hybrid between the Science of Teaching Reading (SOTR) and the ability to implement the knowledge into daily classroom practice. Knowledge of the science certainly needs to be acquired, however, if classroom practice is not impacted, the exercise to train teachers on the science was wasted. These workshops not only reinforce the Science of Teaching Reading content but provide support and guidance as teachers move from theory to practice.

The Connecting to the Classroom ® training, developed by MGT, facilitates the movement of knowledge from the training to the teaching technique in the classroom. Teachers need to be supported in ways that positively impact student performance and Connecting to the Classroom® offers a solution for that.

The Connecting to the Classroom ® program includes five modules: ​
