Derrick Dalton, Program Manager, has lead several partner schools in North Carolina, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. With over 20 years of experience in education, Derrick has significantly impacted student learning through his roles as a principal and district office leader. His passion for education is evident in his dedication to creating positive and successful school environments. Derrick’s key strength lies in building strong relationships and fostering trust among school leaders, teachers, students, and parents, creating a supportive and collaborative atmosphere crucial for educational success.
Derrick was previously a school principal at middle and high schools in the Atlanta area, where he turned around several low-performing schools. He also served in the Office of Pupil Discipline in Chesapeake, Virginia, and as an assistant principal in Chesapeake and Atlanta before becoming a principal. Derrick’s international experience includes serving as an Academic Vice Principal in Abu Dhabi, where he supported the modernization of the educational system by consulting with the Abu Dhabi Educational Council and principals to improve data-driven instruction and curriculum implementation.
Derrick obtained his Educational Specialist degree in Leadership and Supervision from the University of Virginia. He is currently completing his doctorate in School Improvement from the University of West Georgia, with a status of ABD as he finalizes his dissertation on improving school culture and climate. Derrick’s comprehensive background and dedication to fostering educational excellence make him a valuable asset to the schools he serves.
