Andrew Sheppard, a dedicated member of MGT since October 2022, excels in providing invaluable support to school districts nationwide. Specializing in GIS software, Andrew adeptly assists districts in understanding student demographic trends, spatial relationships, and educational needs. His responsibilities encompass a wide array of tasks, including student enrollment forecasting, open enrollment reporting, attendance area redistricting, custom mapping projects, residential development project phasing, and online client-use mapping services. Andrew takes a proactive role in fostering strong client relationships. As an initial point of contact, he reviews and processes information provided by districts, as well as finds relevant information from local health departments, GIS departments, and residential land development companies. From collaborating with large districts like Chino Valley Unified in California to smaller ones like Kelso School District in Washington, he has played a pivotal role in identifying demographic trends in areas that could indicate the need for rezoning and assisted in determining the location for future school facilities. With each new project Andrew looks forward to the opportunity to support the mission of education around the country as he believes high-quality public education is a vital part of a healthy community and something to which every child should have equal access. As part of his role, he provides SchoolSite™ Locators, empowering districts with virtual web maps to assist in school location assignments.
